Jeypore: Concerned over the rise in COVID-19 positive cases in Koraput district, the administration on Monday declared lockdown in four civic bodies and four panchayats from Tuesday till July 27.
Koraput Collector Madhusudan Mishra said that the lockdown will be enforced in Koraput, Sunabeda and Jeypore municipalities and Kotpad Notified Area Council. Besides, Borigumma, Charanga, Pottangi and Laxmipur panchayats will also remain under lockdown.
Mishra said that vegetable and grocery shops and the supply of milk in these areas will remain open from 7 am to 1 pm during the lockdown.
Out of 311 positive cases reported from Koraput district so far, 226 are active cases while 85 patients have recovered.
