Bhubaneswar: A woman tehsildar let her hair down at her brother’s wedding, throwing all the COVID-19 guidelines to the wind.
Bulbul Behera, tehsildar of Sukinda in Odisha’s Jajpur district was enjoying the function by violating the social distancing.
In a video that went viral, Bulbul can be seen dancing and enjoying, in the baraat procession at Jagannathpur village under Tirtol block of Jagatsinghpur district on May 21.
Even though the state government has banned procession, restricted the number of guests in marriages and banned community feast in view of the rising COVID-19 cases, the woman administrative officer was seen openly violating the lockdown norms.
In the video, many of the guest can also be seen without the mandatory face mask.
The tehsildar’s act has raised many eyebrows at a time when the state is struggling with a rise in the number of COVID positive cases as well as deaths.
