Sonepur: The Sonepur district administration on Monday declared a 12-day shutdown in 15 panchayats under Birmaharajpur block in view of the rise in COVID-19 cases.
As informed by the district collector Monisha Banerjee, the shutdown restrictions will remain in force from 7 am on Monday to July 31.
No public movement shall be allowed in the containment zones and inhabitants within the containment zones shall also not move out. All inhabitants within the containment zones shall strictly remain at home.
Apart from this, all shopping establishments of whatsoever nature should be closed immediately while the supply of essential commodities and medical requirements ensured through various teams.
All government and private institutions located within the boundary of the containment zone will also remain closed.
The district so far has a total of 53 positive cases, out of which 9 are active cases while 44 patients have recovered and discharged from the COVID hospital.
