Jeypore: Following 66 fresh COVID-19 positive cases in Koraput district in the last 24 hours, the administration on Thursday declared a 48-hour shutdown in the entire district.
Briefing mediapersons here, Collector Madhusudan Mishra said that the district will remain shut from the midnight of Thursday till August 1 midnight.
Barring emergency services like healthcare, all other establishments in the district will remain closed during this period, he added,
The collector also requested people to strictly adhere to the COVID-19 guidelines and not move out of their house.
Of the new cases, 49 are from home quarantine, one from a temporary medical centre (TMC) while 16 are local contacts.
With 220 recoveries, Koraput district now has 470 active cases.
