Bhubaneswar: Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) declared some localities in Dumduma area of the city as containment zone on Saturday.
BMC Commissioner Prem Chandra Chaudhary said six residents of Subash Nagar slum have tested positive for COVID-19. Of them, five have no travel history.
Chaudhary said the entire slum and its adjoining localities in Dumduma have been declared as containment zone to contain the spread of the virus.
The areas declared as containment zone are as follows.
—From Hanuman temple to Plot no-323
—From Plot-no-323 to Plot no-261 and 258
—From Plot no-262 and 258 to Hanuman temple.
The BMC Commissioner informed that all government and non-government offices in these areas will remain closed and those living in the containment zone have been asked to remain indoors.
He also said that active surveillance will continue for seven days in the mentioned areas to ensure that the containment rules are followed.
