Cuttack: Five sarpanchs on Tuesday announced 48-hour shutdown in their respective panchayat areas in Cuttack district’s Niali block after six people tested positive for COVID-19.
The shutdown will remain in force in Niali, Nuagaon, Baharana, Madhaba and Ratanpur panchayats from 9 am on Tuesday to 9 am on Thursday.
Apart from this, the chief district medical officer (CDMO) ordered the closure of the outpatient department (OPD) of the community health centre in Niali for 72 hours from Tuesday after four staffers tested positive for the virus.
