Bhubaneswar: Taking note of the alarming rise of COVID-19 positive cases in Odisha, the state government has decided to launch serological survey in the state.
According to the Health and Family Welfare Department, the survey will begin in Puri on Saturday with people undergoing rapid antibody test.
The rapid antibody test will also be conducted in Ganjam and Gajapati districts, Bhubaneswar in Khurda district and Badamba-Narasinghpur in Cuttack district from the first week of July.
Serologic tests are blood tests to detect antibodies in the blood. The tests also involve a number of laboratory techniques that focus on proteins made by the immune system of a person. Different types of serologic tests are also used to diagnose various disease conditions.
