Malkangiri: The district administration on Wednesday announced a four-day shutdown for two civic bodies with effect from Thursday.
Briefing the media, Malkangiri collector Manish Agarwal said that the Malkangiri Municipality and Balimela NAC will remain closed from 9 pm on July 30 till midnight on August 2.
He said that the people of these two civic bodies have been asked to remain at home.
There will be no public and private vehicle movements except the vehicles used in the transportation of goods. Barring the medicine shops, milk booths and health facilities, all government and private offices, business and trading establishments will remain closed, he added.
The collector said that the administration clamped the lockdown after 7 from Malkangiri Municipality and 4 from Balimela NAC tested positive for COVID-19.
