Nabarangpur: Two villages of Umerkote block in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district were declared as containment zone after a man in the area tested positive for COVID-19.
As informed by district collector Ajit Kumar Mishra, two temporary medical centres (TMCs) of Karagan Majhi Sahi and Bhandariguda villages have been declared as containment zones for seven days.
Referring to the three new positive cases reported from the district on Saturday, the collector said the swab samples of 150 persons were sent to Bhubaneswar for test on June 12. While seven persons were found to be positive in the first-phase report received by the district administration on June 18, three more persons were found infected on Saturday.
Of 13 COVID patients identified in the district till June 21, two have recovered and are being discharged. One person has died of multiple illnesses while 10 patients are undergoing treatment at the COVID hospital, Mishra added.
