Balangir: With the number of COVID-19 cases in Balangir nearing 200, the district administration has decided to impose weekend shutdowns during the month of July.
Balangir Collector Arindam Dakua told the media on Thursday that the entire district will be shut down on Saturdays and Sundays during July.
Besides, all hotels, fast food centres, tea and betel shops, street side snacks and lassi shops will remain closed during the clampdown.
As of July 1, the total COVID cases in the district was 194, including 44 active cases and 150 recovered cases.
