Bhubaneswar: Padma awardee Nanda Prusty was shifted to SUM Hospital in Bhubaneswar from Kalinga Nagar Tata Medical Covid Hospital on Saturday evening.
He had tested positive for COVID-19 and his condition is stated to be critical.
The 102-year-old teacher, popularly known as Nanda Master, from Kantira village in Jajpur was admitted to Jajpur district headquarters hospital on Monday after he complained of acute pain in the chest.
He had been suffering from fever and cough for past one month and was initially taken to Sukinda CHC, where doctors referred him to Jajpur.
He was shifted to Tata Medical Cove Hospital in Kalinga Nagar after being diagnosed with COVID on November 30.
Additional District Magistrate and District Chief Medical Officer of Kalinga Nagar reached COVID hospital and monitored Nand Master’s condition. He was shifted to SUM Hospital under the supervision of Additional District Magistrate and District Chief Medical Officer.
