Kolkata: Veteran Bengali actor Soumitra Chatterjee was shifted to intensive care of a private hospital here after his COVID-19 symptoms worsened on Friday night, the PTI reported.
The 85-year-old actor and Dada Saheb Phalke winner was admitted to Bellevue Nursing Home in Kolkata after testing positive for coronavirus on October 6. Chattopadhyay had resumed shooting a few days ago.
“Mr Chatterjee has been shifted to the ITU after he has been experiencing restlessness and reached an acute confusional stage. We have shifted him to the ITU for close monitoring. He is having several co-morbidities, that’s why we need to be more careful,” a senior doctor at the facility was quoted as saying by the news agency.
