Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 test positivity rate (TPR) in Odisha is expected to come down to 5% in the next 7-8 days, said Director, Health Services Bijay Mohapatra on Sunday.
He said the TPR in Odisha which was over 23% in May, has gradually come down to 9%.
“Earlier, the number of COVID tests in Odisha was much less. However, to identify the positive cases as early as possible for timely treatment of patients, the number of testing is now ramped up in the state through active surveillance and now we see that the active surveillance had paid off,” Mohapatra told the media.
He said if the rate of decline in the TPR continues, it will take 7-8 days to come down to 5%.
