Bhubaneswar: Odisha Police acted against 11,801 violators of mask usage and social distancing rules on the second day of special COVID enforcement drive.
Police collected a fine of Rs 26.61 lakh from the violators.
In the first two days of the drive that was launched on April 7, as many as 21,201 violators of COVID protocols have been penalised and total fine amount of Rs 51.69 lakh collected.
The 10-day special drive was launched by Odisha Police will continue till April 16.
After the 14-day mask campaign announcement by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, the enforcement measures are likely to be intensified further.
Odisha Police collected Rs 25,07,900 as fine from 9,400 violators of COVID-19 guidelines on the first day of special enforcement drive.
