Jajpur: With Odisha in the grip of COVID-19 second wave, the Jajpur administration has decided to clamp Section 144 at Baruni Ghat to prevent congregations during Baruni Snana festival on Friday.
The official order issued by Jajpur Sub-Collector Jyotishankar Mohapatra said that prohibitory orders have been imposed at Baruni Ghat, Dasvamedha Ghat, Baruni Mela Padia and its adjacent areas to check community transmission of the infection due to large gatherings.
The Jajpur police have been directed to keep strict surveillance to avoid any untoward situation, the order added.
