COVID Resurgence: Puri Swagadwara Out Of Bounds For Outsiders

Puri: In view of the resurgence of COVID-19, the Puri district administration has decided not to allow cremation of non-Puri residents at the Swargadwar here.

The decision will come into effect from April 26, said Puri SP Samarth Verma.

It has also been decided that bodies of COVID-19 patients of Puri will be cremated at Mangalanadi ghat.

Other funeral related rituals, including immersion of ashes, will not be allowed near the sea here, the SP said.
