Berhampur: In view of the prevailing COVID situation, the Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) on Saturday banned entry of devotees to temples, churches and mosques.
“All places of worship will remain closed for public. Religious rituals will be permitted with limited number of priests and staff adhering to COVID safety protocols,” the BeMC notification said.
Religious congregations are strictly prohibited. Any persons found violating this order shall be punished under the provision of the Disaster Management Act, 2005 and other relevant laws.
The order will remain in effect from January 9 to 31.
