Kalahandi: A 72-hour shutdown was imposed in six villages in Kalahandi district on Monday after a local youth tested positive for COVID-19, Kalampur sarpanch Mina Kumari Majhi informed.
Majhi informed that the patient, a resident of Junagarh block, had recently visited his uncle’s house at Ganjaiguda.
The shutdown will be enforced at Kalampur, Baragaon, Kasabhai, Ghodabandh, Ganjaiguda and Sagabari villages, the sarpanch said.
During the shutdown, all non-essential shops will remain closed and non-essential travel will be prohibited. Majhi warned that those found breaching the requisite social distancing norms will be fined and punished.
