Bhubaneswar: The COVID situation in Odisha is stable but people must be careful and not let down their guard, said Director of Directorate Medical Education and Training (DMET) CBK Mohanty on Wednesday.
Briefing media he said the daily COVID-19 positives in the state have been hovering around 400 to 600 in the last seven days, but the state has to be watchful as the cases are increasing in other parts of India. Since there is no major restrictions on travelling to other states people have to be more cautious, he added.
“Rise in COVID positive cases depend on people’s behaviour towards following the guidelines as well as changing of variants of the virus. We have to follow all the COVID protocol and be watchful even if there is one case,” he added.
More emphasis should be given to testing, tracking and treatment and the Health Department is fully geared for it, he added.
He urged one and all to adhere to COVID-19 appropriate behaviour strictly, the top health official said.
