Puri: The district administration on Wednesday declared Kanas village and the entire market area as containment zones for seven days.
According to Kanas BDO Lochan Das, the decision has been taken after more than 400 people of Kanas block tested positive for COVID-19.
Stating that the people have been asked not to move out of the containment area, Das said the local administration will provide essential items to the people during the containment period and start active surveillance and contact tracing of those infected.
