Cuttack: Amid a sudden spike, COVID is continuing to spread its tentacles on campuses across Odisha. SCB College of Nursing here has also reported 28 cases in the last two days.
Those infected are hostel boarders and have been kept in isolation at the hostel, Principal Bijayalaxmi Das informed on Sunday.
Efforts are underway to shift them to a different place, she added.
Notably, Cuttack city had reported 262 new cases on Saturday and 157 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Odisha on Sunday saw another massive spike in new infections as 4714 more people, including 416 children below 18 years of age, tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

A hostel at XIMB in Odisha capital was declared a micro-containment zone on Saturday after 30 students tested positive for COVID.
Amid the spiralling cases, the state government has ordered for closure of all educational institutions (colleges, varsity and technical institutes) from January 10.
“All Colleges/ Universities/ Technical Educational Institutions under the superintendence of Government of Odisha shall remain closed with effect from 10th January 2022,” the notification stated.
However, medical colleges, nursing colleges and institutions under Health and Family Welfare Department will remain open, it said, adding that all ongoing offline examinations will continue with compliance to COVID appropriate behaviour.
