Bhopal: Following the lockdown imposed by the Maharashtra government in wake of rising COVID-19 cases, the Madhya Pradesh government has also announced a similar restriction in the state.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan informed on Thursday that a total lockdown will be imposed in all urban areas of the state from 6 pm on Friday till 6 am on Monday.
“My intention has never been to impose lockdown, but to control the situation, it is compulsory to implement it at a small level,” the CM was quoted as saying by DNA.
Chauhan also said the administration is building containment zones in major cities and holding Crisis Management Group meetings to check the spread of the virus.
