New Delhi: The Delhi Government on Thursday informed the High Court that it is actively considering night curfew among other steps to tackle the surge in COVID-19 cases in the national capital, India Today reported.
The High Court bench pulled up the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) led government asking, “How do you get to know about these violations? What’s your protocol? The wedding season is upon us, you need to have a protocol to conduct random checks and other acts to ensure that there’s a checking mechanism in place. You should create a portal for online payment of fines collected for Covid guidelines violations. You also need to utilise those fines for good causes, they’re not meant to simply fill up your coffers.”
The HC also pulled up the government on the procurement of ICU beds. “Your compliance of our last order on procuring more ICU facilities is inadequate,” the court was quoted as saying.
Delhi govt has said ICU beds will be added within the next six-eight days, the report added.
