COVID Tally Mounts To 49 In Odisha With 4 New Cases

Bhubaneswar: Covid-19 cases in Odisha mounted to 49 on Sunday with four more persons testing positive for the deadly infection.

Public Health Director Dr Nilakantha Mishra said that 15 among those infected have recovered so far and health officials are closely monitoring the condition of the 34 active cases in the state.
Most of the detected cases are from Khurda, including Bhubaneswar city, and Cuttack districts.

Some of the infected persons have been admitted to hospitals while the remaining are in home isolation, said officials.

Stating that concrete steps are being taken to contain the spread of the virus, Health department officials have urged people to adhere strictly to guidelines and take precautionary measures.

People have been urged to follow basic Covid-19 appropriate behaviour such as mask usage, hand hygiene, and avoiding crowded places.

Arrangements are being made to enhance the testing and tracing of Covid-19 cases in the state, aimed at containing further spread. The public has been advised to remain informed through official communication channels for updates on health protocols and advisories.

Steps are also being taken to ensure the availability of Oxygen supply, isolation beds, ventilators, and critical medicines to combat any potential escalation.
