Bhubaneswar: Pregnant women in the capital city have started availing of BMC’s facility of collecting swab samples for COVID-19 test from their doorstep in Bhubaneswar.
Pushpita Roy, who is a healthcare worker, was impressed with the home service and thanked the BMC team.
“Thank you BMC for responding quickly and coming to my home for sample collection for RT-PCR test,” said the 33-year-old Pushpita, a resident of Jagannath Colony, Tankapani Road.
Pushpita was one of four expecting mothers from whom the BMC team collected swab samples of for RT-PCR test. They had all booked an appointment by calling 1929 Call Centre on Tuesday.
Swab samples were collected from two women in South-East Zone, and one each from South-West and North Zone of the Civic body.
An appointment can be booked by calling 1929 between 8 am and 11 am to avail this facility.
All Zonal Deputy Municipal Commissioners — Anshuman Rath (South-East), Purandar Nanda (North) and Rabi Narayan Jethhy (South-West) — are monitoring and ensuring smooth and hassle-free collection of samples in their respective zones.
