Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 fatalities remained above 60 in Odisha with 64 more deaths due to the deadly disease being confirmed in the last 24 hours. With this, the toll soared to 6565 on Tuesday.
The list includes those who had died in the months of May and June and an audit identified the reason for the death as COVID, the Health Department said.
Khurda district reported the highest 20 new fatalities followed by 8 from Sundargarh, 6 from Balasore, 4 from Kandhamal, 3 each from Cuttack, Jajpur, Mayurbhanj, Nayagarh and Puri, 2 each from Angul, Deogarh and Jharsuguda and one each from Balangir, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur and Sambalpur.
Meanwhile, the COVID toll in 20 of 30 districts has crossed the 100-mark.
Khurda district has the highest 1335 deaths followed by Sundargarh (566), Ganjam (462), Cuttack (444), Puri (402), Bargarh (305), Angul (274), Mayurbhanj (229), Kalahandi (202), Balasore (219), Sambalpur (195), Rayagada (160), Jharsuguda (168), Nayagarh (158), Kendrapada (151), Keonjhar (143), Dhenkanal (132), Balangir (112), Jagatsinghpur (107) and Boudh (106).
