Bhubaneswar: COVID-19 cases in the state capital went up to 66,880 on Friday after 1,186 new cases were reported in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 142 are from quarantine and 1044 through local contacts.
Maximum cases were reported from Jharpada Special Jail (86 inmates). There were 64 cases from Old Town, followed by Saheed Nagar (45), Nayapalli and Khandagiri (39 each), Dumduma (35), Chandrasekharpur (34), Sundarpada and Jharpada (30 each), Baramunda (27), Sailashree Vihar and Niladri Vihar (25 each), Patrapada (24), Unit-3 and Mancheswar (17 each), Rasulgarh and Bhimtangi (16 each), Jayadev Vihar (13), Vani Vihar and VSS Nagar (10 each).
On the other hand, 1041 patients recovered in last 24 hours.
With 53,880 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 12,672 active cases.
