Bhubaneswar: After a substantial dip in daily COVID-19 cases, the state capital once again reported well over a thousand new infections in the last 24 hours.
From 925 fresh cases on Wednesday, the number went up to 1,120 on Thursday.
Among the new cases, 159 are in quarantine and 961 through local contacts.
Dumduma reported the highest number of cases with 50, followed by Khandagiri (43), Nayapalli and Old Town (42 each), Patia (40), Badagada (39), Laxmi Sagar (34), Chandrasekharpur (25), Mancheswar (24), Niladri Vihar and Baramunda (23 each), Patrapada, Sundarpada and Unit-8 (20 each).
The total number of coronavirus cases in the city since the outbreak of pandemic now stands at 65,694.
With 52,839 recoveries, Bhubaneswar currently has 12,530 active cases.
