Bhubaneswar: The state capital on Tuesday reported the highest single-day spike with 1196 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 194 are in quarantine and 1002 are local contacts.
In terms of the number of cases, Nayapalli has the highest at 61 cases followed by Old Town (57), Patia (47), Chandrasekhpur (30), Badagada (29), Dumduma (27), Sundarpada and Jharpada (25 each), Khandagiri (24), Unit-6 (23), Patrapada and Rasulgarh (22 each), Saheed Nagar (21), Laxmisagar (19), Unit-9 and Baramunda (17 each), Unit-8 (15), VSS Nagar and Acharya Vihar (14 each), Jayadev Vihar and Jagamara (13 each) and Gajapati Nagar (10).
With this, the total positive cases in the city have gone up to 55,772.
On the other hand, 858 patients have recovered from the disease during the period.
With 44,778 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 10,689 active cases.
