Balasore: The district administration on Wednesday extended the containment order in two villages till August 19.
The administration had declared Radhakishorepur village under RK Pur panchayat and Sangrampur village under Kansa panchayat in Nilgiri block as containment zone on August 5 after detection of seven COVID-19 positive cases.
District collector K Sudarshan Chakravarthy said as the contact tracing was underway in the two villages to contain the spread of the virus, the containment order will continue for 7 more days with effect from 12 noon of Wednesday till 12 noon of August 19.
All the criteria, terms and conditions pertaining to the containment zone will remain unchanged, he added.
With 7 deaths and 1081 recoveries, Balasore district has 476 active cases at present.
