Bhubaneswar: The daily COVID-19 caseload in the state capital went up again with 379 new cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
The number of fresh positive cases was 357 on Wednesday compared to 181 on Tuesday.
Of the new cases, 75 were from quarantine and 304 were local contacts, Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) stated in a tweet.
Of the local contacts, 22 cases were reported from Chandrasekharpur, followed by 17 from Khandagiri, 15 from Jharpada, 14 from Saheed Nagar, 12 from Old Town and 11 from Nayapalli.
The city logged 248 recoveries while there are 1,729 active cases. The number of deceased has touched 696 as 13 more patients succumbed to the disease.
With the day’s addition, the total number of cases stood at 97,170 while 94,724 patients have recovered from the disease.
