Bhubaneswar: After registering a gradual fall for six consecutive days, the daily COVID caseload in the state capital went up again on Tuesday with 661 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Among the new cases, 156 are quarantine and 505 local contacts. With this, the total number of cases in the city has gone up to 81,570.
Patia (37), Khandagiri (31), Dumduma (26), Niladri Vihar and Nayapalli (24 each), Old Town and Baramunda (17 each), Sailashree Vihar (16) Chandrasekharpur and Jharpada (15 each), Mancheswar and Unit-8 (14 each), Saheed Nagar and Kalinga Nagar and Patrapada (12 each).
On the other hand, 1,357 patients have recovered from the disease.
With 73,965 recoveries, Bhubaneswar now has 7,222 active cases.
Out of a total of 1,22,918 positive cases in Khurda district, Bhubaneswar accounts for 66 per cent.
