Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in the capital city went up to 50,448 on Thursday with 1,118 new cases in the last 24 hours.
Of the new cases, 185 are from quarantine and 933 through local contacts (83%).
The number of active cases in the city has now gone up to 9861.
The maximum number of new cases are from Patia (68), followed by Nayapalli (48), Baramunda (40), Old Town (38), Chandrasekharpur (37), Khandagiri (35), Sailashree Vihar (28), Dumduma (27), Sundarpada and Mancheswar (25 each), Unit-3 (24), Badagada (22) and Jharpada (21).
The number of patients to have recovered in the city is 599, taking the total recoveries to 39,615.
Notably, the total positive cases in Bhubaneswar have gone up to 17,715 since April 1 with the highest 1119 cases on April 29.
Out of a total of 78,811 cases in Khurda district, Bhubaneswar now accounts for 64 per cent.
