New Delhi: COVID vaccination for children is a matter of days with the government likely to launch jabs for the under-18 age group in August.
Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said this in a meeting attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP MPs on Tuesday.
According to experts, vaccination for children will be a giant step in breaking the chain of transmission and also reopening of schools in the country amid warnings of a possible third wave of the pandemic.
Earlier this month, Chief of AIIMS Delhi Randeep Guleria said the results of the Covaxin trials are expected by September and vaccinations for children could start by that month.
