Bhubaneswar: A day after announcing special provisions for pregnant women for taking COVID-19 vaccine, the Odisha government on Friday said the vaccination will begin after July 15.
Speaking to media persons, Director, Health and Family Welfare Bijay Panigrahi said the government will release the detailed guidelines for the vaccination of pregnant women on Friday.
As per the programme, the ANM, ASHA and Anganwadi workers and other health workers will be imparted training on vaccination of pregnant women which will be completed by July 15.
In order to ensure that the pregnant women do not have to take physical strain, they need not stand in queue at vaccination centre. Dedicated waiting rooms will be set up at vaccination centres for them, Panigrahi added.
Panigrahi stated that frontline workers, ASHA, Anganwadi and all health workers have been administered special training for inoculation of pregnant women.
