Bhubaneswar: Putting apprehensions to rest, the Health and Family Welfare department stated that COVID-19 vaccination sessions will continue in all districts of Odisha even during the lockdown from May 5-19.
The Additional Chief Secretary (Health), PK Mohapatra, has stated in a letter to district collectors, Municipal Commissioners and Chief District Medical Officer as well as Public Health Officers (CDM & PHOs) that COVID vaccination will continue from Monday to Saturday (including Gazetted Holidays).
However, the sessions will be conducted subject to availability of vaccines.
The sessions will be closed on Sundays to sanitise all COVID Vaccination Centres (CVCs) with a view to reduce the transmission of infection, he added.
Though use of vehicles has been restricted during the lockdown period, all eligible persons like the healthcare workers (HCWs)/front line workers (FLWs)/45 years & above/18 & above can travel to CVCs in their own vehicles/taxies or auto rickshaws by following the government set guidelines.
