As per sources, Works Department has been declared as Nodal department for construction of the memorial. To finalise the design and structure of the memorial, the department will engage an architect.
The cost of construction will be met out of the budgetary provisions of Works Department, as decided during the announcement made by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on 31 December.
The memorial shall be ready for inauguration on 15 August, this year.
The memorial is a tribute to the exemplary courage shown by COVID warriors in management of the pandemic and their supreme sacrifice.
