Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police will make elaborate arrangements for smooth conduct of Mahashivratri on March 4, when they anticipate a huge turnout of devotees at the Lingaraj Temple in Old Town area.
A preparatory meeting in this regard, chaired by Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty, was held on Tuesday. The Commissionerate Police will give emphasis on discipline and traffic control during the festival. Police forces would be deployed at the temple for smooth conduct of the annual festival.
Culture minister Ashok Chandra Panda, Mayor Anant Narayan Jena, DCP Anup Kumar Sahu and temple trust board members, servitors and other representatives were present at the meeting.
