BCCI Announces 15-Member Squad For Cricket World Cup

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday announced the India squad for the ICC World Cup 2019, beginning May 30 in England.

The players who got the BCCI nod are:

Virat Kohli (Captain), Rohit Sharma (Vice Captain), Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni (Wicket-Keeper), Kedar Jadhav, Dinesh Karthik, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Mohd Shami.

Dinesh Karthik and Vijay Shankar are the two big surprises in an otherwise settled squad.

Dinesh Karthik is the second wicket-keeper, besides MS Dhoni. Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja and Kedar Jadhav have been picked as all-rounders in the team. The bowling will be manned by Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami.
