Bhubaneswar: Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal has extended his help to the victims of triple train accident in Odisha’s Balasore district through donation.
Chahal, who featured for Rajasthan Royals in IPL 2023 which concluded recently, participated in a stream organised by Scout Gaming channel for raising funds for the victims of the train tragedy at in Odisha on June 2. Chahal donated Rs 1 lakh to the pool.
A right arm leg spin bowler, Chahal currently plays for Haryana in domestic cricket. He was the second player and first Indian to take a haul of 6 wickets in T20 history. He is also a former chess player and represented India internationally.
Meanwhile, the Odisha government has revised the toll in the horrific train accident to 288. Chief Secretary Pradeep Kumar Jena said, “We had confirmed 275 deaths in the train accident till yesterday. Following verification of bodies and updates received from collectors, the death figures mounted to 288.”
