Bhubaneswar: The Revenue Department has given permission to the Crime Branch to take up the investigation into the alleged land grabbing case against the Odisha lnfra Tech Pvt Ltd.
A letter to this effect has been written by joint secretary, Revenue and Disaster Management, PC Mohanty to Additional Director General of Police, Crime Branch, on Wednesday.
In the letter, the joint secretary has asked the state investigating wing for a criminal investigation into the sale of Rayati lands in Sarua village in Begunia Tehsil belonging to the Scheduled Caste persons in Khurda district in favour of Odisha lnfra Tech Pvt Ltd in a alleged benami transaction through Rabindra Kumar Sethy, a former driver of ORTEL.
Notably, Khurda collector Sanat Kumar Mohanty in his report had stated irregularities in the purchase of the land and recommended the Revenue Department to initiate a Crime Branch probe into the case.
