Cuttack: The Special Task Force of Odisha Crime Branch on Thursday arrested most-wanted criminal Kishore Moharana alias Dhandua.
Dhadua was wanted in a 2014 murder case and absconding for the last eight years.
Following intelligence inputs regarding possession of illegal firearms at a place in the city, STF team raided the area and arrested Dhadua. They also seized one 9 MM pistol, 5 rounds live ammunition from him.
Dhandua was wanted for the murder of one Deepak Naik at Chandikhole Bazar in 2014. Dhandua along with some of his accomplice had fired at Deepak, killing him. A chargesheet was filed against all the three persons but Dhandua managed to give the police a slip.
The Court of District and Sessions Judge, Jajpur had convicted one Sesadev Swain alias Buba in connection with the murder case. But, the trial of Dhandua is still pending.
