Malkangiri: A crocodile was rescued from a house in Munasa village under Hindrimil panchayat of Malkangiri district late on Tuesday.
According to reports, the 12-feet long creature had entered the house of one Dasarathi Padiami while he was asleep with other family members. He woke up and found the huge reptile resting right beside him.
The family members hastily ran out of the house and informed the neighours, who rescued two children trapped inside by breaking the asbestos and later managed to capture the crocodile.
Forest officials, who rushed o the spot on being informed about the incident, said the reptile had strayed into the village from Satiguda dam, a couple of kilometers away.
