Crocodile Sighted In Chilika Near Odisha’s Puri; Panic Among Fishermen

Puri: A crocodile was reportedly sighted in Chilika lake near Satapada area under Krushnaprasad block of Odisha’s Puri district, triggering panic among fishermen.

As a video of the crocodile reportedly spotted in the sprawling lake went viral on social media, fear gripped Satapada and nearby areas along the water body.

According to sources, a private boat with some passengers was proceeding from Janhikuda to Satapada on Friday afternoon when the giant crocodile was sighted near an isle inside the lake.

Since sighting of crocodile, stated to be around 10-feet long, in Chilika is a very rare phenomenon, the incident has sparked terror among people, particularly the fishermen, the sources added.
