Bhubaneswar: Assistant Civil Supplies Officer of Nayagarh district, Jayant Kumar Das was on Sunday arrested for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance sleuths arrested Das and forwarded him to Special Judge Vigilance court here for possessing assets worth Rs 1.6 crore. Das has been remanded to judicial custody till December 18.
The anti-corruption sleuths conducted the raid following allegations of possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of income.
Simultaneous house searches were conducted at 5 places on December 4 by five teams of Odisha Vigilance led by 4 DSsP, 8 Inspectors, one SI, four ASIs and other staff on the strength of search warrants issued by Vigilance Special Judge court.
