Bhadrak: Vigilance officials on Sunday arrested a woman supervisor in the Child Development Project Office (CDPO) in the district and her husband in a disproportionate assets case.
On the allegation of possession of assets disproportionate to the known sources of income by the woman supervisor in Bhadrak block, Mallilata Das, four teams of Balasore Vigilance Division conducted simultaneous house searches at four places in the district on August 24.
After thorough search, Mallilata was found in possession of assets disproportionate to known sources of her income to Rs 1,32,44,709.
During the raids, she was found in possession of one five-storey building and one four-storey building-cum-shops and three plots at Samaraipur in Bhadrak town, a four-wheeler, one auto-rickshaw, 2 two-wheelers, assets/stock in building-cum-shops worth over Rs 1.13 crore, bank deposits of over Rs 1.96 lakh, insurance deposits of over Rs 1.83 lakh and other movable and immovable properties.
As she could not account for the properties satisfactorily, Balasore Vigilance registered a case against her and arrested Mallilata and her husband and forwarded them to court.
