Bhubaneswar: Deputy manager of Odisha State Police Housing and Welfare Corporation (OPHWC) Pratap Samal, who has been arrested by the Vigilance in DA case, was suspended on Thursday.
A notice of the OPHWC stated that Pratap Kumar Samal, Dy Manager (Civil) presently working at Head Office in Estimate Section as Dy Manager (Estimate) is placed under suspension from November 10 in connection with Vigilance case.
Samal has been attached to headquarters, Cuttack Division and ordered not to take leave without permission of the controlling officer. He will report to the project manager, Cuttack Division after release from judicial custody, the notice stated.
Samal was arrested on Wednesday and a case registered under Sections 13(1)b and 12 of the Prevention of Corruption (Amendment) Act 2018. He and his family own 25 plots and three buildings including a 5-storey in Bhubaneswar. He had bank deposits of Rs 1.61 crore.
