Bhubaneswar: The family and friends of another COVID-infected youth from Odisha have appealed for crowdfunding to meet his treatment expenses.
Deepak Kumar Mohanty (41), a resident of Bhubaneswar, is suffering from COVID for the past 25 days. He was admitted to KIMS Hospital, Bhubaneswar. Post COVID, his lungs got damaged up to 80 per cent and he is now undergoing treatment at Apollo Hospital in Hyderabad.
The patient needs ECMO support at the earliest, but the cost is quite high, a post on Milaap.org by his friend Chinmay Biswal stated.
Until now, the family has spent about Rs 1,000,000 and arranged the amount from savings or selling assets, Biswal said in the post.
In the next 30 days, the family needs Rs 50,00,000 more for further treatment. Deepak is married and has a little daughter.
