Bhubaneswar: CRPF observed the day of Valour to commemorate the battle of “Sardar Post” on Gujarat border taken place on 09th April 1965 in which valiant CRPF personnel sacrificed their lives while combating against strong Pakistan brigade.
The day has been recorded as a glorious chapter in military history of the nation when only two companies of CRPF repulsed the Pakistan attack.
Sri Kamal Kant Sharma, IG CRPF took guard of honour and paid tribute to brave jawans who made their supreme sacrifice for the nation at Martyrs Memorial.
All the Jawans took pledge on this occasion to dedicate their supreme service for the safety & security of the Nation.
Gallantry medals awardees were felicitated in a commemorative function on this occasion.
