CRPF Detains 11 Persons Carrying Weapons From Forest In Odisha’s Kandhamal

Phulbani: The CRPF jawans have detained 11 persons, suspecting their activities in a forest, in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

According to sources, the CRPF personnel were carrying out a routine search operation in the forest near Jarighat under Kotgarh police station in the district on Sunday. They came across 11 people staying in a camp in the forest and detained them.

The CRPF jawans seized 4 guns, 3 axes and some essential goods from their possession. While the identity of the detained persons has not been ascertained, the personnel were carrying out their interrogation.

The involvement of these persons in poaching of wild animals and link with Maoists activities were also under investigation, CRPF sources said.

The details about the detained persons would be known after the investigation, the sources added.
